The Godfather As a Metaphor For US Foreign Policy

H/T to Andrew Sullivan for this insightful piece on Institutional Liberalism, Neoconservatism, and Realism, as seen in the plot of the Godfather.

Most interesting assertion: That failing to acknowledge the shift to a multipolar world, where US power is diminished but where it can still be first among equals, is the central failing of both the "negotiate everything" strategy and the "attack all competitors" strategy.
