Suddenly, a Target-Rich Environment

We suddenly seem to be killing a lot of terrorists. A sampling from Bill Roggio here, here, here, here, here, and here. Note that these are all in the last five days.

What's going on? Several theories (not sure I believe any of them):
  • Things have gotten bad enough in the Pakistani NWFP that Musharraf has given the Americans permission to take the gloves off.

  • Al Qaeda is actually quite weak right now and they feel they have to throw a lot of resources into action right now to build some momentum. If that's the case, then it would appear that the US has gotten awfully good at interdicting their operations at an early phase. This would be good news.

  • There's some weird kind of propaganda push by the US to demonstrate progress.
Whatever the reason, it looks like it's been a pretty good week.
