Sabotage?

I wondered how long this would take to emerge. Here and here are opinion pieces wondering whether the Dems in the House are using the Armenian genocide resolution as a way of choking the logistics of equipment into Iraq.

If this were true, it would be nearly treasonous. However, I'm not so sure. The driving force behind the resolution seems to be Tom Lantos, the chairman of the House Foreign Relations Committee. It's easy to disagree with Lantos but he has been a scrupulously straight shooter. He has also been a hawk in the past. Lantos is also co-chair of the Congressional Human Rights Caucus. Presumably, this originated in the Caucus and Lantos used his power on the Foreign Relations Committee to shepherd the resolution along.

If this were a Pelosi show, I'd be a lot more suspicious. But she seems to be more opportunist than ringleader on this one.
